Christmas in the Village

Spruce Forest Artisan Village at Little Crossings, Grantsville MD

A magical, candlelit holiday event with art, music, and activities for the whole family in the heart of the Grantsville Arts & Entertainment District

• Friday, Dec. 1st | 4pm to 8pm
• Saturday, Dec. 2nd | 12pm to 8pm
• Sunday, Dec. 3rd | Select shops open, Artisan Village closed

Limited parking on site. Event parking with free trolley shuttle from Grantsville Town Park on Friday and Saturday – each rider gets a free raffle ticket! No shuttle service on Sunday, open parking.

Spruce Forest Artisan Village historic log cabin studios – blacksmith Mike Edelman, leatherworker Luke Geasey, wood turner Gene Gillespie, weaver Ann Jones, and potter Lynn Lais. Visiting artist: glassblower Dwight Yoder.

    4PM to 8PM Children’s crafts and storytelling in Kinderhaus with Ruth Enlow Library’s Grantsville branch childrens specialist Ryan Williams

    7PM Town of Grantsville Tree Lighting in Spruce Forest Artisan Village caroling around the tree from Grantsville and Route 40 Elementary School chorus students beginning at 6:45PM. Following the Tree Lighting, all children in the audience are welcome to sing along for another round of carols. Hot cocoa and cookies provided by Commissioner Paul C. Edwards

    5:30PM Dr Neal Corwell – whimsical Christmas concert by retired US Army Band brass multi-instrumentalist with keyboard accompaniment from his wife, Kathryn Sincell-Corwell

    ALL ARTISANS OPEN

    12PM & 1PM Storytelling with Laura Treacy Bentley at The Gallery Shop Too at Grant’s Mercantile. Each reading session will be followed by a kids craft session with the Grantsville Arts & Entertainment District

    Local author Bentley will be reading from her illustrated children’s book “Sir Grace and the Big Blizzard” and afterward, children can create paper snowflakes and decorate cardboard swords to take home.

    1PM-4PM Live Nativity with members of Horner Lutheran Church from Stoystown, PA

    3PM Casselman River Bridge History with Ranger Brian White, meet near Fernwood Soap for an outdoor walk and talk

    12PM-1:45PM Studio C piano & vocal recital followed by Burlington United Methodist children’s choir

    The Artisan Village as a whole is closed, additional individual shops and artisans may be open
